DESIGN SITUATIONS STRUCTURES

Design a structure to support a house brick (2.5 kilograms) at least 10 c.m. from the table surface, using one A4 sheet of paper. ( Fold sheet lengthwise and into a roll, it may support several bricks )

Design a bridge to support four golf balls and spanning a gap of 20 cms. using one A4 sheet of. paper

Design a tower structure to support a golf ball as high as possible from the table surface, or at least as high as your nose, using 20 art straws and on a card base of 20 cms square

Design a structure to support a house brick at least 30 cms from the table surface using 20 sheets of newspaper, and 3 meters of brown sticky tape

Design a structure (with or without a card base) to support a cricket ball as high as possible from the floor, using 30 sheets of newspaper and 4 metres of brown tape.


Using card, paper, artstraws, card tubes and other simple materials DESIGN and CONSTRUCT one of the following:-

WINDMILL
WIGWAM or other type of HOUSE OR HOME
OIL RIG PLATFORM
MINESHAFT HEAD GEAR
DOCKSIDE CRANE
TREE FORM
SKELETON
LOOK OUT POST
ELECTRICITY PYLON
BLACKPOOL TOWER
SWING, SUSPENSION, BRIDGE
( NEWPORT, TRANSPORTER at Teesside)
MATHEMATICAL SOLIDS ( tetrahedron, pyramids, or geodesic domes)
